Custom 6x6 crew - in progress

Alright well the wrecker idea was a flop. the ebay winch didnt hold up, and the VERY stout wrecker platform it's self was far too heavy, weighing in at just over 600lbs. Now on to bigger and better things. I just got ahold of an 03 4x4 500 parts only vehicle and I want to make the most of it. My idea is to add the frame, seats and cage of the 500 to my 700 6x6 and make a 6x6 crew. I plan to add the extra seat behind the existing one, and leave the motor in place (under the front seat) because I don't have the resources out here to extend coolant hoses and throttle cables and such. It will look a little goofy with part of the transmission and belt housing sticking into the rear seat area (i will build an alum. cover) but I'm sure i can tie everything in nicely and keep it pretty stout. The only things i will have to extend are the driveshaft, hyd. brake lines, emerg. brake cable (which will be the hardest), the exhaust and of course some wires. Any thoughts on this

Re: Custom 6x6 crew, any ideas?

Seems like you know what you are doing, any custom build requires a lot of thought. Think it through and if you need any help ask. Post up pictures when you can.

Re: Custom 6x6 crew - in progress

Thanks for all the complements. I have to say it handles like crap, but I suspected that adding 42" to the wheelbase might do that . Not much left to do on it, just the aluminum floor and "engine cover" for lack of better words. I toyed with the idea of dual tanks, but thats not too important to me out here. Thanks for looking, and I will keep you updated.
Here's the 6x6x6 next to a Mule 3310? that just showed up here. i call it shawty

Re: Custom 6x6 crew - in progress

I have finished the 6x6 Crew, other than re-wiring the overhead lights that face front and rear, and maybe some dome lights and a little paint. It turned out pretty nice, almost too nice for Iraq. To bad it has to stay here . I don't know how many people follow the advanced fab. section, so i'm posting the finished pics of it in the "full size photo" section to show it off a bit more. Thanks for looking!
