2012 Polaris On-Road Models
![]() For model year 2011, Polaris introduced the Polaris EV LSV as its first civilian Low Speed Vehicle and will continue to offer the vehicle for 2012. Based off the Polaris Midsize Side-by-Side platform, the Polaris EV LSV, includes the necessary features to classify the vehicle as a LSV per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, such as a horn, turn signals, automotive-quality windshield, and rear view and driver’s side mirrors. With its 30 horsepower electric motor, quiet operation and 25 mph top speed, the Polaris EV LSV is the most-capable LSV available. The unit features three modes; High for speed, Low for towing and hauling, and Max for maximum range to ensure the best use of power and battery life for any application. The Polaris EV LSV was built to be tough and reliable. Its 1,000-pound payload capacity, 1,250 lbs. of towing, 500-lb Lock & Ride cargo box, and On-Demand True All-Wheel Drive for harsh terrain makes it the only choice for an electric work partner. Polaris EV LSV also has VersaTrac with one-wheel, rear-wheel drive for a tighter turning radius. Its 48-volt, AC Induction brushless motor provides high performance with low maintenance for maximum reliability. For recharging ease, the unit can be charged using a standard 110 volt AC outlet. The Polaris EV LSV will be available in Sage Green and may qualify for low-speed vehicle tax credits available to vehicles in the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) Standard No. 500, Low-Speed Vehicles.
