new proud owner of 08 ranger

Just found this forum and glad I did. My husband and I just bought an 08 silver ranger xp 700. Looking to meet others to ride with. Haven't taken pics yet but will soon. One Question bought a full Lexan windshield how do you stop the dust vortex? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: new proud owner of 08 ranger

I purchased a plastic/nylon front windshield like the ones cabelas and bass pro shops sell that are made for the front. It fits the back perfect. It Velcro's on and stops the dust from coming in. Just looked and now they have them for the back as well. Here is the link. The used to just make these for the front. I measured the front and it was the same for the rear. I also found mine a little cheaper searching the net but can't remeber where I found it. Also some people cut 4 holes in the front windshield across the top using a hole saw. This allows enough air in to push the dirt out. It works, I have a buddy who did this. So either way you would like to go. I like the rear cause it helps keep you dry in the rainy season. Do you have a top?

I have one of those back windows. Classic Quad Gear Brand (very good Quality !)

I only used it once, before I changed my cage, and I cant use it anymore.
I'll sell it for $25 (I think thats about 1/2 price of what I paid for it)

Heres the one I have http://www.coverbonanza.com/434948/products/QuadGear-Extreme-UTV-Rear-Window.html

Re: new proud owner of 08 ranger

Thanks for all the suggestions. We do have the rear plastic velcro windshield and that helps a little. Will be picking up the top this week to install. Not sure if that will help or not. Our windshild is a 2 piece with the bottom about 10 inches. Which do you think will help the most, removing the bottom or drilling holes in the windshield? We live in Mesa. Husband will also be up north Turkey hunting on 10/3/08 in 4A-4B. Thanks again, Laura

Try just removing the bottom 1st, I have seen several running like that

I think I am going to get 1/2 windshield , they seem to work pretty well.

Thanks I think we will try that first, will let you know. Also hoping the new top that I am picking up on friday will help. At least it will keep the sun from beating us up.
