Re: 2009 excessive heat
What a bummer....with the 09's just out, there probably is not much info out there yet. Keep us posted as to what you find out! By the way, welcome to the forum!

Re: 2009 excessive heat
I get a lot of heat from my 2008 XP. If I don't raise the windshield after it gets up to around 50 degrees outside it's plumb unbearable in the cab. But, in February I wonder where it all went......haha.

Re: 2009 excessive heat
I think you should look and make sure they haven't exhausted one of the tubes under the hood. I know the intake for the Clutch Cover and the Intake for your air box is under the hood on the old ones. Maybe they brought the exhaust up there for some reason. I have seen people cut some corrugated plastic to fit under the dash to keep dust and heat from blow under there. Maybe that would be a quick and simple fix for your problem.
Welcome to the Forum! Josh

Re: 2009 excessive heat
Thanks for the replys. After taking the dash out I find there is a huge area that opens up into the radiator compartment. There is also several other large gaps into that area as well. I am going to seal them off today as soon as I can get to the hardware store for some insulation. I will let you know what the outcome. Thanks again..........

Re: 2009 excessive heat
Met another guy today with a 09 an the first thing he said to me when I asked him how he liked it was...."Boy is there ever a lot of heat coming out from under the dash".....Definite design flaw. Might be OK this winter but we live in the desert and use it during the summer. Insullation helped a little. Polaris says they haven't heard of this issue........We will see..

Re: 2009 excessive heat
Took my 09 XP out again yesterday and noticed once again that the cab gets extremely warm. In fact the temp reached 109 degrees in the cab after about 1/2 riding on the trail and the air temp outside was 78 degrees. Very unconfrontable. My thoughts are that with the shorter slanted hood and the much smaller area underneath the hood area that the heat from the radiator gets trapped has no place to go except into the cab area. The slower you drive the warmer it seems to get. From the raditor to the dash of the XP is about 18 inches. I hope we don't have a design flaw. I do have the XP dash seal kit that I will get put on.

Re: 2009 excessive heat
Here in Louisiana, we don't need any EXTRA heat. I've had my '09 Browning for about 3 weeks. As soon as the fan kicks on (which is all the time after about 5 minutes running) the cab heat is HORRIBLE! I have the polaris windshield, top, and rear. The hot air is coming from the openings in the dash around the tilt steering, the e-brake, and the gear shifter. There must be a fix for this. Also there's a hand size hole below the seat which lets out some of the motor heat right on the back of your knees. HELP!!!!!!! How can we fix this?
