Which year and why?
I am looking to buy a used polaris ranger and am trying to figure out which year I should begin looking at. Single cab is fine, 4wd and independent rear suspension is preferred. Any other features/technology I should be looking for?

Re: Which year and why?
Sorry I can't help to answer your question, but thought I'd get this bumped up for a chance at a response. I have the 2005 700efi. I got it in a trade, I wasn't out looking for anything specific, but I have enjoyed it. Hopefully, someone with a bit of knowledge of all the different year models will chime in here and help out.
Good luck! |

Re: Which year and why?
The 07 has efi and is a plus. The moved the brake pedal in 08 up to the dash and that is nice. All pre 09 rangers need a tilt steering as it is a pain to steer. I work with a company that sells the tilts so that is no big deal. I believe the 09 has power steering also. You can purchase that for older models also.
I would get one with efi, 700, ifs .

Re: Which year and why?
I think it was 2005. All the 700cc models are efi and the 08 models they upped the towing to 1 ton and moved the parking brake to the dash beside the shifter. I would go with a xp model.

Re: Which year and why?
How are you going to use it? If it's more for recreation I would get an XP. If it's going to be used mostly for work you might check out the 500's. I have a 2006 500 with carb, and it's a real work horse. My 2006 is 4WD, and has independent rear suspension.
