Need Wheel Bearing Help

Newbie here. Just bought a 2005 Ranger 4X4 with IRS. Need to replace rear left wheel bearing. I found some on JC Whitney but they don't tell you what model they are for, only sizes. Has anyone tried these and do they know what size I need? They ask for inside diameter, outside diameter and width and bearing number. Haven't checked prices at the dealership yet. Any words of wisdow would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Need Wheel Bearing Help

I would get these from a oem dealer. We have sponsors on here like Dirty Dawg Performance, Fox Valley ATV , Motor Sport Super Store and Shoals Outdoor Sports. Check with them.

Also welcome to Polaris Ranger Forum..

Re: Need Wheel Bearing Help

There are aftermarket bearings from good companies that are a little cheaper (less expensive) than stock

Re: Need Wheel Bearing Help

Big Dog, any ideas where to find them. I checked with super ATV when I ordered my axle but they don't carry them. I found one place on ebay that sells them for $35. Just thought I could get them cheaper than that. Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

Re: Need Wheel Bearing Help

Carnivore, thanks a million for the help, really appreciate it. I don't mind shellin' out the cash for something that's worth it, but I had spending $40 on a $5 part.

Re: Need Wheel Bearing Help

we learned this with our early Sportsman 500s. It was pretty common to wear out the drive shaft universals and Polaris wanted ridiculous money for the replacements.

We took them to our local Napa auto parts store and he measured them, used his crossover book and found they were a very common U joint used on many power take off shafts. I think they were $12 and $16 as opposed to the $40 and $45 from Polaris.

The trick with all of these bearings and other hardware parts is being able to find the crossovers.
