They only have a 6 HP gain over the 700, but I'm told the torque gain is impressive. Change the cam and ECU and you will gain a lot more power. I love my 800, it makes it run like it should.

Re: 2010 RANGERS 800 CC

6HP may not be much on a big engine but on a little guy like this that is a fairly significant change. From 40 to 46HP is 15%, which is a fair improvement. The dealership did try to play it down as not that big of a deal and that the 40HP was more than enough for what anyone would want to do with a non-RZR Ranger, but I have to believe that was a bit of sales pitch to get me into the last 09 HD they had in stock. From the little bit of driving I did on the 09 model with 40HP it seemed to be just fine, but their test course wasn't super extreme and they didn't have anything very heavy for me to try towing around.

If you are happy with the 40HP, no reason to shell out big bucks for a whole new machine. And like he said, you can get that performance upgrade for a lot less cash with some simple mods. Did see a 700-800cc conversion kit out there, was overpriced IMHO at something like $2600. An entire engine swap might be cheaper, but I haven't bought any factory parts yet so I may be in for some sticker shock on my first repair.

Re: 2010 RANGERS 800 CC

When I buy a new machine I always go for the top dog power plant in what ever model. In your case Max, I will bet our sponsor Dirty Dog Dale could have your 40 HP tweeked to blow right past the stock 46 with just a few nice mods.
Ofcourse you have to consider what the same mods on the 800 might create but hey, it is what it is and I am pretty sure you could get at least a 15% increase in power with not to severe a mod job.

I do know with just some clutch work on an RZR the difference Dale's clutches make are very impressive.
