ranger fuel pump problems
Hello my name is Jim. I have a 2005 ranger 700xp. It starts and idles fine and will run up to about 25 mph then stops accelerating. The dealer said the fuel pump was out and to replace it, I would have to replace the tank and all. It would cost about 500$ for all parts. Is this standard procedure or can I get a fuel pump alone and not the tank?

Most of the time the fuel pump comes with the sending unit and hanger assembly but should not have to purchase the whole fuel tank. That may just be the way that the dealer sells it. Try calling other dealers/suppliers and price shop to see if it just happens to be just this particular one. They can be very costly at times though. Good luck.
