One suggestion I've seen was to use duct tape on the bed dump latch to keep it from rattling.

I have a 2012 Ranger 800 LE, squeals, vibrates, sounds like a piece of junk at idle or low speeds. dealer says its normal, didn't happen when I drove it out of yard... probably need to take it somewhere else... pretty disapointed with Polaris at this point

The rattling could be damage from the transmission being overheated by that hose as you found out, could also be partly caused from the tires you are running, if you are running the stock offroad tires you'll always have a fair amount of vibration due to the tire tread, but street tires would make your ride a lot smoother and give you less rattles and vibration. Also check your suspension settings, if they are still set from the factory they aren't really providing any suspension at all, most times they are turned all the way down giving nothing, if you max them out you'll find your ride will be better as the suspension will be able to work.

What's the top speed of the Ranger XP 800 and the HD 800? Are they the same?

Looking to get one or the other soon, but want to setup to be street legal. I used to drive my Yamaha Rhino around town and it would top out at 42mph, drove around 4-8 miles at a time at just shy of top speed to keep from bouncing off the rev limiter, but never had an issue with overheating or anything failing other than wearing the tires out really fast.

I'm liking what I've been reading on the Rangers and how easy it is to get accessories for cabs, heaters, and making them road legal.

They are all noisy, it's usually nothing serious, just vibrations from the engine. Takes a little attention in the form of padding between parts to dampen it.

These are UTV's if I remember correctly, they aren't cadillacs, I don't understand why people are trying to make believe they are LOL. Its an offroad vehicle, its going to ride, drive and sound like such. You can't take the utility and offroad out of a UTV, unless you buy a Cadillac LOL.

I agree. Each dealer has different mechanics some are better than others regardless of where you go. One mechanic may do an assembly one way leading to a perfect machine, while the mechanic that may do an assembly on another day does a half ass job leaving you with a machine that falls apart within a few hours of use.
