2012 HD vibration

Just bought new ranger 800 hd. At @ 40 mph it had a terrible vibration & noise like it was starving for air. Found suction hose for belt cooling kinked at filter box. Fixed kink. Noise and most of vibration went away. It still has a vibration that comes & goes like a rithem 35-40 mph.

Regularly driving a Ranger at 35-40 seems like a recipe for failure to me. They're not small trucks, they're not meant for prolonged driving at high speed.

I would tend to agree...if you want to go fast you should have bought a RZR.

Not true , the ranger is built to last and take any thing you can dish out . Just keep up with the regular scheduled maintnance.
Once you work out your particular bugs it's workhorse. Here in Az. We have ours street legal we have my 2010 and my wife has a 05 .I drive mine on the street at traffic speed and it's just fine. I just sold an 07 that NEVER hardly saw dirt and it was purfect. My wife's 05 takes her all over town and has had only 3 services since we purchased it in 06 and never a belt yet ( nock on wood)so drive and enjoy and it'll be just fine

One thing that will cause a vibration is a damaged belt with the cooling tube kinked it may have overheated and what would of been normal use may have damaged the belt. As far as the speed I dont see that as being a problem. Hope this helps

I had a buddy that is a big plaris guy tell me its the bed panels vibrating & that Polaris knows about it. He said they have a fix involving putting in 2 screws. I drove it again & listened close. It does seem like its coming from the bed area. Anyone heard of this?
Also my power steering light has come on 3 times now & temp lost power assist. It has code 0-168-3 ?? I think this thing was built on a friday.

Looks like power steering problem was loose connection. Added screws per Polaris rep & vibration is better but not gone.
By the way you should be able to drive these things 40 mph+ all day with no problems. I've found 30 - 35 is a good speed on the road going between farms.

Sure... because Polaris has been so responsible about everything else, like selling Rangers that cook people, seats that fall off due to plastic pins, etc.

My truck will probably go 100 MPH - but I'm not likely to ever find out, as it makes no sense to drive it that fast.

Took to dealer & they said root cause is driven clutch probably damaged by kinked air tube. They orderd kit that includes new belt & both new clutches. ofcourse parts are not available till sometime this month So we hurry up & wait. The belt was cooked so the put me on a new belt so I can use it till parts come in. they showed me a couple other units that have vibrations too. I'll never get rid of all of it but hopfully enugh I can stand it. Polaris did a very poor job of fit & finish as far as the metal rattles & plastic vibrations on these things. I can't believe they released anything that rattles & vibrates like these things do brand new!
