clutch/belt issue

Have a 2009 Ranger 500 4X4. A couple of days ago it developed a power problem along with a noise, slight smell of burnt rubber, etc. So I put a new belt on it and thought I had it solved. After about 20 - 30 minutes I put it in 4x4 and some of the problems started again. It It seems to run OK in Lo but in Hi or any sort of incline it looses power. Eventually it will get up to speed and go fine. Any idea would be appreciated.

First thing I would check, based on others' experience, is engine mounts. They say that if the mounts flex too much (if the rubber is broken) then the belt gets out of alignment and burns up quickly.

One Thing I didn't point out was that the original belt was not "ate up". I assumed it had some wear on the sides since there was rubber powder (from wear)in the compartment. But other than that you wouldn't know that there was any wear from the belt.
