2011 Ranger 800 efi ON FIRE!

Had a 2011 Ranger 800 with multiple WIRING HARNESS problems and driver and passenger heating problems. Notice I said "had". 13 months old and 8 trips to dealer(s) for problems when the ultimate happened. Parked the ranger on trailer and attached to truck on Wednesday afternoon and woke up Thursday morning (15 hours later) to flames and black smoke. Ranger is crispy critter now. Nothing but frame left. Fire Marshall report stated electrical fire was to blame. Lost Ranger, trailer, $3,500.00 damage to truck and $1,500.00 damage to garage. Guess I was lucky it was still hooked up to truck or I couldn't have gotten it out of the garage while burning. I am 63 years old and not abusive of the machine. Wonder how many others have had fires while machine is unattended? If you would like full color photos of the fire, leave e-email address and I will send.

That sucks! I keep being more and more glad that my Ranger is older. I sure hope they get their stuff together and start building them right again.

Look on the bright side... now you can buy a Can-Am with the insurance money...

No Insurance. Paid Cash and figured most problems could be $1,000 or less. Never figured on 100% loss!

I don't suppose your homeowner's policy will cover it?

if you have full coverage on your truck it may cover trailer and Ranger also.
