Re: Gas price

Yep, I posted this same letter over in the Show your Truck thread but got pretty hammered by some of my knowledgable buddies who also say it would never work.

Pretty much just like politics and religion in that you can't get 6 people to agree on much of anything let alone do something like this.

I guess the fact is that folks these day don't even look at the brand sign and instead they buy from where ever it is cheapest.

Re: Gas price

Gary,

I posted some opposition to the idea of this working. I KNOW it would work, BUT.....as soon as one dealer is a little cheaper (say 20 cents a gallon or so), there will be so many people there, lined up to buy gas, that they will simply raise the price back up. Maybe not the full 20 cents, but say 10 cents.
I just dont see people having enough will power to resist buying gas from a station that is slightly cheaper than the competition.

Just my two cents.....for free. (cause nobody would ever pay for it!)

Re: Gas price

Yea PT, I agree and it is just human nature to go for the best deal.

I used to a staunch advocate of "Buy American made goods", still am when possible.

The problem was that even if you think you are buying american made goods, such as Polaris or Warn, if you look around just for a few seconds you will see the words "Made in China" all over them.

Therein lies the real problem and the reason for the prices of everything going through the roof.

The US Dollar is going in every direction but home and continues to be worth less as a result.
