Don't try this at home!

You guys will get a kick out of this. A buddy of mine had a bad tire. He punched 2 holes in the sidewall and plugged it. Then it kept going low on us and popping off the rim. So the last time we did not know but it broke the belt in the beed and that is why we couldn't get it to seat. However we tried using some gas cause we didn't have anything else. We removed the shrader valve and added about 4-6 drops of gas , kicked the tire and well you watch the video and let me know how it goes!

The video does have a couple of curse words so don't let the kids around when watching. If anyone has a problem with this I can remove it.

Re: Don't try this at home!

When I was a kid my dad taught me that exact trick to mount tires. Sometimes it actually works.

Yeah I have done it with starting fluid, but then I have seen some tires go up in the air about 6' also. It should be #1 on youtube before long. Good Times and making memories!

Good video! A trick to get a tire to seat, is to make two wraps around the tire with a rope and tie it off. Insert a tire iron, large screw driver, lug wrench, whatever you have under the rope and twist four or more times. The center of the tire collapses and the edges of the tire will move outward and seat. Then just add air. Probably won't work with a broken tire though. After you plug a tire, add a can of fix a flat and the tire won't leak.

Re: Don't try this at home!

We had a ratchet strap and it worked the first time by doing the same thing you are talking about. But the last time it came off he broke the steel belting in the beed and the tire expanded that is why it wouldn't seat. It was useless for us to use gas but we didn't know it was broke. Makes a good conversation piece though. I have always used ratchet straps to compress jeep tires when they come off the rim.

Re: Don't try this at home!

I was fixing to post this on here but josh beat me to it. All i can say is that im glad we didnt put more gas in it or it might not have been so funny. Look behind the tire and yal see a gas can sitting there with gas in it. Needless to say that was the highlight of the trip. Hey Josh, how did you get the video and do u still want leigh to make you a copy?
