Snow Storm
We are in the middle of a full blown snow storm here in southern West Virginia. We already have well over a foot where I live. Ain't had this in 10 or 11 years. The power keeps coming and going. Rode the Ranger down the holler a bit while ago. It's a winter wonderland.

Re: Snow Storm
Yea Cat, the most I ever saw while there was a dusting of an inch or two and always gone the following day. You need to watch for the calm after the storm and especially if it melts real fast.
Enjoy it while you can and be mighty careful on your next ride for serious wash outs along your normal trails. This Global Warming thing sure is getting serious! I had 2 degrees yesterday when I got up and places that don't normally get hammered are getting slammed with unusually deep and wet snows. Maybe we need a trillion dollar bill to study a way to divert the Jet Stream instead of a Global Warming Summit in Copenhagen! I'm sure as soon as our elected officials see another way of getting their hands on another Trillion they will be all over it. Stay warm Cat. Gary

Re: Snow Storm
You have to admit it sure does look pretty!
We are getting the tail end of the same storm now. Because it headed up the coast after hitting WV we should only get a half a foot or so. That's pretty light duty for here but I do know a foot down in WV and below is devastating since they are not prepared for heavy snow falls. NY City could get a foot or more tonight and that will cripple them because they have no place to plow it to. You never did say how the ranger did in the deep snow Cat. If you do go out to play tomorrow just be sure you resist the temptation to do Donuts. They sure can be fun but rangers, RzRs and all the UTVs don't do side slides very well at all. Hope every one has a merry Christmas and no need to wish for it to be white this year. Gary

Re: Snow Storm
Thanks for looking, y'all. Gary, I am not tempted to do donuts. I'm a pretty civil senior citizen......haha. The Ranger did well in the snow. My son took it to town today and got supplies. He said it did well.

Re: Snow Storm
Yuck. It reminds me of last winter. We were getting snow like that about every other day. (must be that global warming thing Al Gore invented)
So far this winter we have only gotten a couple of inches.

Re: Snow Storm
Good to hear Cat that your ranger does fine plowing through. The only time I have trouble here is when the snow gets packed in and deeper than a foot so I end up high centered and the skid is gliding on top of it.
I did some checking DMAX and think I have it figured out. The jet stream got diverted and went way deeper than it normally does for this storm. Scientists can only relate the diversion to all those jets from Washington DC that headed to Denmark over the past week for Al Gore's big party. Gary
