condition of body when recieved new razor

I just purchased a 2010 razor and had a bunch of extras put on it. The dealer delivered it to my house when I was not home so I could not do an inspection of it . The body of the razor has scratches all over it like they have been wiping this thing down with a piece of sand paper. Now I know there will be plenty of scratches and probably worse when taken off road, but the machine is mostly gonna be used as a plow vehicle. Just curious if all razors arrive in this condition, is it how the Polaris plastics are. I traded in a 3 year old honda rincon in a better body cond. I mentioned it to the dealer and they just brushed it off . Am I being too Anal or should break stones . figured bought a new machine and I should be the one to put scratches on.

It is not normal to have scratches on the body of a new RZR. It should look showroom new. How many miles does the odometer have on it? Mine was less than one mile when I picked it up.

Re: condition of body when recieved new razor

My paper work says 0 miles and I tried to check the odometer and the wires going to the yellow button on the dash to get the mileage is not hooked up and I looked under the dash with a flashlight and I can't find the wires , I don't know if when they installed the stereo the unplugged the wires by mistake . I am just not very happy with this dealer's service. They were in a hurry to go home on x-mas eve that they did things half assed. The machine was loaded with oily hand prints and they were not thorough on checking machine out. I also bought a dirt bike for my sson at the same time. Thank god thats alright. I think that razor sat outside on display for a while and the idiots they have working there just wiped the machine down with whatever they could get their hands on

It should not have a scratch on it if it was brand new. If it was mine, I would give them one week to have a brand new one sitting in my garage.

The thing also that is getting me real mad also is they ordered the wrong plow package for my rzr and I am still waiting for it to come in and we have had 2 small snow storms so far since they took my atv as trade and I do not have a plow vehicle. I hope we don't get a big snow storm before I get this mess straightened out. My driveway is over 350 ft. long and no plow for my rzr.

This is really fishy, when I was a young lad and could not afford to help pay the mileage on a rental car, we would un-hook the speedometer/odometer cable from the transmision and put in a plug. Sound like some one did the same, I would complain to the Polaris area manager. They are usually good people.

Re: condition of body when recieved new razor

I don't think they unplugged the odometer on purpose , I think it came unplugged when they installed the stereo. I am mad that they were in a big hurry to go home for the Holiday that they never gave the machine a check over or even made an attempt to clean up the machine for delivery. Well they will be hearing from me first thing Monday morning and I'm gonna tell them to pick up this machine up and bring me another one that is not all scratched up or refund my money and return my old quad.

I don't like getting nasty with people, but sometimes a guy just has to get downright mean in order to keep from getting screwed. Hope all goes well for you.

Well I called the Dealer this morning , I was their fist phone call they recieved this morning and I let them know how I felt and told them the machine is sitting in front of my shop with the keys in it come pick it up. After a bit of silence on the other end of yhe phone I heard a OK . I'll keep you posted of the saga

Re: condition of body when recieved new razor

I do hope it works out well for you and I think they played a bit unfair. Not being able to see it up close I can't actually make a real determination on this.

As far as some scratches go, Unless they are pretty nasty, I think I could swallow them if that was all that is wrong. In a few runs through the woods you will have plenty of scratches any way but it is your right to put them there your self. The new machine should be delivered looking new!

If you get another one from this dealer or another then be absolutely certain to look it over real good and make note of any issues before you put your money up. Some of the guys they have working on these at the shops are complete dorks and just don't care. Many shops employ WANABE mechanics who don't know their arse from a hole in the ground. Buying from a respectable dealer is often more important than getting the best deal. You should always have the right to check the machine over before you accept it for purchase. If the machine you are buying was a dealer demo then it should be represented as exactly that and priced accordingly.

My RZR had 0.8 miles on the odometer and a small scratch on the fender and he gave me the sport top for free plus 20% off on any accessories I bought that day.
