Beware! Just an FYI on a Dealer
1st Off I have been a customer with Peacock in Baldwin Michigan since 1983. My father before me was a Peacock Customer as well and most of my friends and family were customers as well. A few months ago I attempted to buy a Ranger XP from them. I was quoted straight up list prices even with having purchased 14 new and used units from them over the past 25 years. I got the feeling they felt I was locked in to buying from them. I ended up at another dealer and purchased the XP from them. I spoke to Peacock and they assured me things would get better if I came back. So when I wanted to buy my RZR I gave them another chance. They did cut me a decent deal but I immediately had the same old crap of no urgency put on getting the accessories and such. Then things really went down hill last week. I was informed by their service deaprtment while talking to them on another issue that my RZR had a bulleting pertaining to the right rear axle not staying in the rear differential. So I checked it exactly how the service man said to and sure enough it was just sliding freely in and out of the diff. No sign of any detent to hold it in place. So they ordered supposedly $1100 worth of parts for this "bulletin" and I took it in for repair. Then the next day I get a call from their service department saying they would not repair it because I have a 2 inch lift in it and that was what caused the axle to come out... Kinda odd that this is the same side the bulletin supposedly refers to and we have another one in our group with the same lift and tires and it has no issue... So anyway as you can imagine the conversation whent down hill from there. The axle deal combined with the fact they told me it was normal for the left front wheel to engauge at random when it 2wd and the rear tires were spinning was a bit much to take. I called the "second in comand" at Peacock and told him what was going on. He managed to not be able to help in any way. I picked up my RZR and left, after 25 years of business I will not be returning. I have since contacted another dealer and they confirmed the issue with the front axle is NOT normal at all and it will be going in for service there. The rear axle issue will be handled by me as I have Gorilla axles coming for it anyway.
NOW HERE IS THE REALLY WEIRD THING....I GAVE MY VIN NUMBER TO THE OTHER DEALER AND WATCHED AS HE LOOKED IT UP FOR BULETINS AND ANY OUTSTANDING ISSUES AND THERE ARE NONE ON THIS UNIT! This post is not pimping any other dealers over Peacock. There are still a few good people there. It is just to make other people aware of what I went through and to warn them. Peacock was at one time a great dealer that was almost like a second home for me....that time is past. The entire shop needs a serious course in customer service at this time. Also why was I contacted and brought in over a bulletin that does not exist, Why was I told the front end engaugement issue was normal when it is not? Why call a long term customer in over a false bulletin then proceed to try to force them to pay for the work they called them in for....Doesn't make sence.. |

Re: Beware! Just an FYI on a Dealer
If dealers only could figure out that one unhappy customer carries so much weight. We have a dealer like that near me but they were caught filing recall claims and not doing the work. I and eveyone I know will never go there agian. Team Winnebagoland, oops did I say that.

Re: Beware! Just an FYI on a Dealer
Well I would send them a message from here. If you notice this topic has a " Send This Topic " button under every post. I am sure they all have e-mails and let them know over 600+ members know how they do business. More than likely the other dealer would fix your rear axle problem as well. A 2" lift would not cause any axle problems.
