Drive shaft removal

I have a 2010 Ranger 800 that a u joint has went out on. I have the shaft off the transmission and the front differential but can not figure out how to get the shaft out so that I can replace the u joint.

Some pull the plastic air-tube off that's under the front passengers-side fenderwell and claim it will come out that way.

I read is comes out thru the drivers side. I pulled the front bumper and front differential the pulled the differential and shaft out the front. Only takes about 15-20 min. to do.
