Drive belt
Does anyone know of anyway to adjust the drive belt on a 99 Ranger? The machine kept burning up belts which resulted in the drive clutch and the driven clutch being replaced. Now the belt appears to have excessive play (several inches) and the repair manual says that it should have about 1.5 inches of deflection. The new belt is PN 3211077. The manula also says that the belt should be 40 7/8 inches long and the new belt is 42. I was thinking of trying a smaller belt from a snow machine if no adjustments can be made. Thanks

I think that is the same number on the belts that I have for mine. Any chance are you using an on line manual for your 99 ranger
 ? The site that I used was deleted or the place went out of business so I'm without a manual now, next one I find I'm printing it.

You will need to re shim the secondary clutch to get the proper belt deflection or move the motor mounts. If you have any questions fell free to give me a call 651-340-1129.
