Rangerware On Our Crew

I know some of the pictures posted in this write-up are repeats from another thread I started so you'll have to overlook that if you've already viewed them [].

The Rangerware system for the Ranger Crew came in two large boxes with each individual part litteraly gift wrapped to ensure not even the slightest damage during shipping.

I chose to go with the flip out windshield which is installed first with four rubber coated clamps, one in each corner on top and two on the bottom of the cage.

Once the windshield is secure it was time to move to the back enclosure. The first thing is to fasten two small flat plates in factory holes that help hold the back panel.

After installing those set the panel in place and fasten with two rubber coated clamps, one on each side. One of the nice things about these panels is thier covered with 3/4" thick head liner material, some of the same stuff used in the cabs of heavy equipment to help absorb sound and vibration. It's also a nice feature for when the sun is beating down on the roof by helping to keep the temp down for everybody sitting under the roof []

The Crew roof comes in two pieces and Rangerware roofs that have sunroofs installed also come with small L-shaped support brackets that fasten in the middle of the roll cage, of course the Crew comes with two brackets.

Once the brackets are tightened down the rear roof panel can be set into place and bolted to the back panel. The panels have a foam rubber weather strip anywhere to pieces fasten together to ensure a tight seal. After the bolts are in you snap on a piece of Trim-Lock heavy duty trim over top of the seam making it look very nice.

One panel left and thats the front roof panel. Once it's set in place you just line up the holes where the front and rear panels connect. It's important not to use the 2nd holes in from the outside because thats where the two rubber coated clamps go that connect the center of the roof to the center cross bar of the roll cage. As you can see in the picture there's another piece of Trim-Lock provided to snap over this seam covering it up nicely.

Connecting the front of the roof to the windshield is the last step in finsishing up the installation of the cab panels. The roof is fastened to the top of the windshield with several bolts that provides a very ridgid secure roof. The hardware kit for this includes 4 plastic spacers, 2- 1/4" thick and 2- 1/8" thick. The 2 1/4" spacers go in the 2 center most holes of the windshield in between the windshield and the roof, the 1/8" spacers go on the next set holes. Once the spacers are in place drop in the stainless steel roof bolts and secure it down. The spacers prevent any sagging in the center of the roof when the bolts are tightened.

The cab panels are now complete and time to start wiring. I've purchased cheaper items in the past for different things and found the product itself to be pretty decent quality but the wiring, connectors, terminals etc. to be very cheaply made and low quality. Well you don't have to worry about that with the Rangerware system. All the wiring harnesses, connectors, fuse terminal and anything to do with this stuff is very good quality. The cab kit also came with some pretty nice overhead lights which help alot especially the stock headlights are kind of a joke.

Here's a few final pics, I'm more than pleased with the Rangerware.
