HELP: 2004 Ranger 6x6 Rear Brake Calipers needing rebuilt
thought my parking brake needed adjusting, didn't help, so I thought I'd look at the pads. Well they are toast (rotted) and doesn't look like the rear calipers have moved in a while.
Has anyone rebuilt these? Is it hard to do? Does anyone know of a kit somewhere that has all the pieces needed? I need everything that is rubber, seals, caps over slide bolts, etc. Thank you Spent so much time making it go better, never really focused on the "stop" part of it. Thanks in advance for help. Joe

Re: HELP: 2004 Ranger 6x6 Rear Brake Calipers needing rebuilt
UPDATE:
Bought new caliper seals and a few other parts (plunger, spring, washer for E-brake). Tore all apart and replaced seals. Unfortunately rear brake lines were so rusty I could not remove them without breaking. Had to order new brake lines, hopefully arrive this week. Then I can find out of the calipers are going to work right. Will be nice to be able to stop better, especially when going down hill loaded with moose. These calipers seem to be quite simple. If anyone else chooses to rebuild, should not be too hard. Instructions for disassembling the caliper is in the manual. Joe

Thanks for the update. I have never rebuilt any on a ranger but have some older 4wheelers and yes the brake lines get bridle. Glad to see you getting it back together.
