Overheating problem with 2003 model Series 11
I need help trouble shooting an overheating problem. First some background so you don't suggest things I've already done.
1. The radiator is clean, both inside and outside. 2. The thermostat is working. 3. The water pump is working, though questionable. I've pulled the hoses at the radiator, purged the system of air to check water pump flow. The flow seems to be very low, with barely enough flow to move water at idle and only enough pressure to push a less than one inch column when revved up. The impellers seem ok but I don't have a new one to compare it to to check for wear so don't know for sure. It seems to me it has to either be the water pump isn't pushing enough flow or there is an obstruction in the water jacket. Any thoughts? |
