Re: Black Hills, SD ride

Kollin,

What size/watt solar panel is that you have on the side of your trailer? I found a 15watt for $80 that I thought about getting for our camper, but wondered if it was big enough?

Thanks,

Mike

Re: Black Hills, SD ride

Hi Mike, the panel I have is a 15 watt. I picked it up at Northern Tool in Fargo, and I think it was around $80. I also picked up the charge controller which is needed to prevent overcharging. Here is the one I have http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200263174_200263174

The only thing I have in my trailer to power up is an RV furnace and 3 lights, so for me the 15 watt was plenty. You can add more panels for extra capacity if you have room.

Kollin

June 5-8 is not going to work for me. The only June date I have open is 26-29, but that is only 2 weeks before the Wyoming trip. I will see how it plays out.

Re: Black Hills, SD ride

I decided to make the trip to the Black Hills. I will be leaving early morning Friday June 12. Returning either Sunday or Monday, not sure yet. Let me know if anyone wants to come along.

Just got back today from Nemo, SD. What a blast we had. I will be planning another trip there again this year.

Re: Black Hills, SD ride

Hi Kollin when are you going to the Hills again? I am going on July 18th morning for 5 days. Can you ride to the trails from the Nemo Guest Ranch? Are there signed trails and maps of the trails available and if where do you get them? Thanks Daryl

Re: Black Hills, SD ride

Yes you can. One of the nicest trails just out on Nemo, is the Centennial Trail. They will have maps at the Nemo Guest Ranch.

I will be going to the Black Hills again over Labor Day weekend.

Have fun riding. Right now I am out in the Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming having a blast.
