Newbie in Big Lake
Hey there, joined the forum to keep up on hints on where to ride and quirks to watch out for on the machines. Got a few random photos of self and friends that we ride with.

Pleased to meet you! I just bought a 2011 500 EFI, waiting for the dealer to get the plow, top and heater in and installed before I take delivery. Should be in the garage before the last week of September - hopefully before the sn*w flies!
How was your first summer with a Ranger? We're really looking forward to exploring a bit next year, but also to parking the snow-blower and plowing the driveway from a heated cab!

Actually this isn't our first summer with a Ranger, But we sure have a blast with it. We are going out to the mine (behind Eureka) that you see in the photos on the 16th. Last weekend we went up to Eklutna lake and camped out. For a two person, upright/side by side machine we are impressed.
Where do you all plan on riding? Scotty

Scotty;
Really bought the Ranger first so my 87 year-old father-in-law can plow the driveway when my wife and I are gone, but with lots of other plans for it, too. Will come in handy hauling in mulch, plantings and fertilizer for the gardens in the spring - sure beats running them around back in a wheelbarrow! - and hauling out felled trees and the like, but that's all WORK. For fun I'd looked at riding at Eklutna, and we also have a friend with a cabin near Willow that is just off the road system. I'll research more places this winter, but it looks like you guys have found some good spots to ride. Thanks for the great photos, by the way. My house backs up to the Eagle River green belt at about mile 7 on the ER road, and I hear engines in the river valley every summer, so I'll have to see if I could just drive off the back of our property and take a jaunt up or down the valley.
