The ranger 900 has the same top end part numbers as the 1000 rzr xp.

ok. But that still doesn't make it a 1000. In the marketing world bigger is better. They will have a 1000 Ranger no doubt just give it time. Even if it does have the same top end components they still had to develop a bottom end to get the extra CC's. Qualifying a new engine even if it's a little change takes a lot of work and $. I use to work for a company that designs timing components for automobiles. The amount of testing involved with a new engine design is mind boggling. And what they usually do is put the new engines in small segments first to see how it plays out before they go throwing it in everything at once. Well that's what the better companies do anyway. People with RZR's are likely to be much more tolerant of engine design flaws than Ranger owners. RZR owners typically are tweaking things anyway whereas Ranger owners are not. Hence last last few new Ranger engines have come after it's already been in the RZR's.

I think it will be a few years before they do, but IMO they will release the 1000 in a ranger. Why am I so sure? Because I just bought a 900XP, thats why!

I think 1000 may have the best chance of coming once the 800 is gone.

that may be next year though.

If i had to guess next year we'll see

a new 900 Sportsman to replace the 800 in the Value Lineup.
a new 900 Big Boss, see above.
the end of the 800 HO, 800 Crew and 800 RZR
a new 900 Ranger 6x6 to replace 800 Ranger 6x6 "i'm surprised this didn't come out this year"

maybe a new special edition RZR 1000 or something... now that RZR is 1cc below the Legal barrier, as well as now having a Crew model I don't really know what's left for RZR short of a 570 Crew and special editions.

maybe we'll get more details on that Slingshot concept

they are already testing the ranger 1000, looks close to a 900 but with a few mods.

Polaris is running a 1000 in an ATV and they sell 100 Rangers for every Scrambler. You can bet that a 1000 will be in a Ranger shortly.

the ATV 1000 is based on the 850cc ATV engine. that motor will never see UTV use. if anything a Ranger 1000 would be using a detuned Prostar 1000

Never said it was the same 1000 motor. The point was simply to illustrate the inevitability of Polaris putting a 1000 in the Ranger.
