09 razor

Hey Guys.........I'm new to this forum and I'm really interested in a Razor. I have been doing a lot of research and have come to the conclusion that the 09 will probaly fit my schedule better. Looking to get one before Hunting season this year coming up. I understand that the 09 info won't be out till maybe July........

Any insite to what Polaris has up there sleeve for the 09 models

There has been some issues with the 08 models from what I read around the net, and was wondering if they have put some of these things to bed.

Thanks in advance...........

Re: 09 razor

Thanks,
That does sound like one nice ride, right now is not a great time frame. But now you got me thinking.

Gotta get a few more things that need to be checked off the "Honey to Do List" before I blow some cash.

There are certain battles worth arguing and some I've learned to just let go.

Fall will be the best time for my delivery of a RZR.

Re: 09 razor

Well, I have not heard of any major changes at all. They began with what we refer to as Generation 1s, like mine that might be for sale over by Matamoras PA. Then they went to Gen. 2 with a few minor plastic changes. Then they went to Gen. 3 with another minor change on the rear hitch receiver set up. The 09s will probably be Gen. 4s with some color changes and who knows what other tweeks.

As far as the problems you read about on the net I think it is safe to say there was one issue that needed correction in the air filter box up between the seats. They did that to all of them and it works just fine for us here in the NE where we are not riding in a constant dust storm. There was also a recall on about 100 machines to check the plastic weld on the fuel tank. Very few tanks had to be replaced.

Lots of guys have complaints about various things from shocks to axels and CV joints and a few who live in very cold areas like us have had problems with the throttle cables freezing up but mostly after dunking them in deep water.

I have had no issues at all except for the garbage factory skid plate they come with. I fixed that and have sent my templates all over the country to well over 100 guys to build their own UHMW skids. I would not own an RZR without upgrading the skid and adding some protection to the differentials.

You can easily roll an RZR, Ranger, Rino or just about any other UTV out there. They are a bit top heavy but the RZR has the very lowest center of gravity of them all. It is also the fastest of them all and has a very sweet ride, comfort and wife/GF appeal factor. As long as you don't get stupid or try doing donuts in it you should be fine.

If you like to jump thru the air then you will need to do some additional frame and shock tweeks. They don't fly very well from what I hear and they land even worse but mine goes thru these Catskill mountains fantastic and impresses all my buddies on quads at how nimble and sure footed it really is. The only ones who ever have to wait for me are the fools I always catch up to when they break!

The RZR is not a machine I would recommend for a real hotrodder out to beat the snot out of every trail. It is a great machine for those of us who like having our ladies along side and inside with us but still like to ride and go everywhere. So far I have to give it a solid 10 out of 10 and it is worthy of wearing the Polaris badge.

Most of the complaints you hear are from those who wouldn't speak a word unless or until they break it and thats the nature of the net and allot of these forums, very few come with praise. Some could have Sherman tanks and manage to break them too!

You can't ride on a UTV! It has to be driven from within just like you would a Jeep. I could break mine in a flash but at 56 years old I much prefer to just enjoy it and watch those with younger bones and deeper pockets have all the fun.

The RZR needs a better skid plate. It needs a bigger battery because we add all sorts of great electronics accessories. I can't get it much over 40 MPH on any trails around here and there is plenty left under my foot when my shorts are soiled. I think it is a tank and a mighty sharp one at that! I've had more fun working on it and accessorizing it then I ever had driving it and hope I can keep it now that it is done and ready to give me years of enjoyment.

I never had much use for the ARABS and as far as I'm concerned they have us by the short hairs right now and very few of us are not feeling it!

Re: 09 razor

We can arrange shipping if needed. We sell stuff all over the country. Had a guy drive over from Arizona last week to buy a boat and one from Louisiana couple of days before that.
