Park brake

For anyone else interested, I just ordered one of these brake locks. I will keep you posted on the ease of install and functionality. Got the idea from Blkh2obill. Thanks Bill.

"This brake lock will hold any vehicle with hydraulic brakes, so it has many applications. It is simple to install, has Line-In & Line-Out and comes with standard 3/16" brake line fittings & installation instructions.

(Width is 2") (Height is 1-1/2") (Depth is 1")

Easy to use: Just step on the brakes, push in the knob on the Brake Lock, and let off the foot brake and it's locked. To release just step on the foot brake and it opens automatically."

Re: Park brake

I installed an electric one like that on Larry G ranger. It works nicely. However you couldn't leave it over night like you can the manual one. Where did you find that? I would like one of those for my Jeep.

Re: Park brake

OK, I got the brake lock installed, and it works great. Very simple installation.

However, I am kind of anal about having a professional looking installation, and the steel brake line I used just doesn't cut it. Any ideas on where to get a flexible brake line like what is used on the RZR?

Re: Park brake

Several off road sites refer to Earl"s Flexible brake line hose. This is their site: http://www.mpsracing.com/products/Earls/Speed-Flex.asp
I do not have any experience with this supplier, the advertisement speaks highly of them.

So it's been awhile now, how is it working, and did you get the flex hose? If so how much hose did you order?

Thanks,

Re: Park brake

Never did find the flex hose. I just used the steel brake line. The brake lock works great, especially if you are on an incline and need to park. Before I really had to jerk the lever to get it out of park. Now I apply the brake lock and put into park. When I go to leave, I shift out of park easily, step on the brake pedal and the lock releases.

Re: Park brake

I considered one of these a while back. Especially after I got stuck after parking on a hill. It is very simple and a good price.
