Shocks and Rear Reciever

2 Questions (2009 Ranger 700 XP)
First, if I move the rear shocks to the outer mounting holes, do I need to adjust the A-Arms. It appears that you can move the rear upper A-Arm up to next mounting holes, is this necessary?

A buddy of mine bent his rear receiver down with too much weight, Has anyone attempted to beef up the rear receiver support. If so, how did you do it, pics would be great.

Thanks everyone.
