2015 Ranger diesel missing high RPM

I have a 2015 crew ranger 1000d with the kohler KDW1003 engine. It runs fine at lower RPM'S but when it gets in the higher RPM, or if you get on it it spits and sputters and i have no idea why. checked the fuel inlet line, and its getting fuel cleaned the airfilter and ran it with the air pipe disconnected. took off the top cover to look at the injectors and stopped there, it was not what i was expecting for injectors.
any help would be appreciated

Did you ever figure out what was wrong with it? Mine is doing the same thing. And it's getting harder to start now to.

Try one injector at a time. If you have a clogged injector it will show you which one. The one that doesn't make a difference is the bad one. I normally work on diesel tractors. I'm new at working on the rangers. If you have removed the injector pump. Then it could be the timing. Not sure in your case. Diesel fuel sometimes get a fungus which hurts performance.

Have you changed your fuel filter? Mine was exhibiting similar symptoms as you are describing with one additional, it would run on for a second or so when the key was turned off.
After extensive troubleshooting I found the fuel filter was not allowing enough fuel through (dirty/clogged).
Changed the fuel filter and all is back to normal again.

Cool Bad fuel-plugged filters

Speaking from my Army years, diesel is a "dirty" fuel. It attracts moisture and dirt which is why truck stops make certain their fuel is "fresh", meaning it is less than 30 days old. My nightmare in the Reserves was having to travel several hundred miles to training sites after our equipment sat up for a year with minimal run time. I could expect many to stall en route because of plugged water separators and fuel filters. My mechanics went nuts keeping equipment going. There is very little that can go wrong with diesel engines as long as the fuel is fresh and the filters are working.

A fungus will grow in diesel fuel. So if you store it for long periods. It will need a treatment to prevent the growth
