Clutch and Ecu for Northstar

So I just got a 1000xp Northstar. The clutch blows. This is my first UTV but backing up, the gas pedal is like a damn on/off switch. Looking for something that engages a little smoother. Wasn't sure if anyone had any experience with a clutch kit or even an ECU reflash. I'm more hesitant with the reflash in case of a warranty issue. The clutch I can always change out back. No electronicals to track that as opposed to the ECU.

If anyone has used a different primary/secondary and has recommendations I'd be interested to hear what you think.

Look up Gilomen innovations he does a lot of work with these machines and has a clutch kit and ecu upgrade that is really nice. Iíve had it on two rangers now and love it. He also sell a primary clutch for the new rangers I believe itís the clutch of the xp 1000 turbos. I have this clutch installed and it is a very durable nice clutch. The new clutch doesnít have a one way bearing like the oem.

I would get a duraclutch and a tune from gilomen. Go to svi and talk to Stephanie for the duraclutch. You wonít be disappointed. I love mine.

I donít think they have a duraclutch for the new body style rangers yet.

Anyone heard of any warranty issues with the ECU? Or should I wait for it to go out of warranty just in case

Iíve had mine in for warranty work and they never said anything about it. I never told them though. I bought another ecu so I could change mine back to stock if I prefer too.

I donít think youíll have any issues. I had my trans covered. I did send my ecu back to terry and he flashed it stock. But they would of known it was flashed either way.

I added the Gilomen Elite clutch kit only, and the throttle response is now butter smooth. A very inexpensive way to smooth throttle response. Works great in all 3 modes.
