  1. upper tie rod torn boot

    Polaris Ranger XP900
Are you saying you can't get the tie rod end off or is it a jam nut at the steering rack? You know that one side is left hand thread right? I don't remember which side.
  2. What all does the factory and a 5 yr extended warranty on a Polaris Ranger cover

    Polaris Ranger XP900
Your warranty should be in the back of your owners manual.
  3. 2019 500 midsize plug location?

    Polaris Ranger Midsize 500
Best I can tell by looking at parts fiche it looks like the plug wire might go down through the front of the valve cover.
  4. 2019 Ranger 500 spark plug removal

    Polaris Ranger 500
My advice is to let someone do this that knows what they are doing. Watch them do it and then you will know how to do it next time. You can screw up the head and possibly the cylinder and piston if you don't do it right. You can't have enough miles on it since new to cause the gap to be too wide...
  5. Check Engine Light - Error Code 520305 - Polaris Ranger 570 Midsize

    Polaris Ranger 570
That might possibly be "Throttle Body Control - Requested Throttle Angle Not Plausible" Might be the throttle pedal sensor or throttle body sensor or something else. I don't have a list of the codes.
  6. 2019 500 midsize plug location?

    Polaris Ranger Midsize 500
Probably not. I have never looked at a ProStar 500 motor. Does the blue colored boot have a wire going into it? Since it is a SOHC the spark plug might be on the side of the head.
  7. Bought a New 2019 Ranger 900 Xp

    Polaris Ranger XP900
Congratulations on your new Ranger. I think you will really enjoy it. Polaris does make the Highllifter vehicles for mud bogging with the snorkels and lift and large mud tires and lower gearing and stronger drive train etc.
  8. Polaris Reliability

    General Discussion
Yes you will see the bashing. Take into consideration that Polaris sells many time more sxs's than anyone else. Probably nearly four times as many as Honda and Kawasaki and Yamaha combined. Those manufacturers generally don't have all their act together, only parts of it. Honda is catching...
  9. Information Seekers...

    Polaris Ranger XP900
This ^^^^^^^^. We answer the same questions over and over to new members that don't use the search function to get even a little bit of background information on your problem and many times the OP doesn't even tell us which vehicle or model and year that is having a problem. The likelihood of...
  10. Two starter-motor problems: Sometimes the motor won’t operate, and infrequently it is running after shut-off.

    Polaris Ranger XP900
It could be a defective ignition switch or starter solenoid.
  11. Ranger 570 Less Power in Low Gear

    Polaris Ranger 570
You have the same power in low as in high but because of the low gearing in low range in the 570 ranger it winds out quickly so you don't feel the power as much. A 25 degree hill is really steep for a road so yes you need to use low range on that. Actually I would use low range all the time...
  12. Check Engine Light

    Polaris Ranger XP1000
The belt they are replacing would be the drive belt. They use a timing chain instead of a belt. There is no reason to use high octane gasoline and they do seem to start easier in cold weather with regular according to member feedback.
  13. Ranger Oil has a hint of gas scent to it - 2015 Polaris Ranger

    Polaris Ranger 570
I don't know really. It depends on how diluted the oil is. If it is just a small amount of gas it might be okay and it might evaporate it out of the oil when it warms up but if it is diluted very much it cuts the lubrication qualities of the oil considerably and can cause problems pretty...
  14. Ranger Oil has a hint of gas scent to it - 2015 Polaris Ranger

    Polaris Ranger 570
It happens sometimes if you only make short trips and more so in cold weather. I would just change the oil and keep a nose on it. Under normal use of longer trips you shouldn't have this problem.
  15. No start, has spark and fuel

    Polaris Ranger 500
No, probably not. You are the second thread this week with this problem. The other OP's piston was scored really bad. I hope you have better luck than he did.
  16. No start, has spark and fuel

    Polaris Ranger 500
I would check the compression first to make sure it is within specification since that is easy. It looks like you have checked the basics pretty well. Sometimes the 500's will shear the woodruff key in the flywheel and get out of time if it kicks back when you try to start it or it sputters at...
  17. 2014 ranger full size

    Full Size Ranger Discussion
You might have a broken turf mode. If it is broken you should have heard clunks and felt it jerk when you make a turn. If it is broken you need to not drive it until it is repaired. Jack up the rear with the tires off the ground, start it and put it in turf mode and in gear and let it idle...
  18. 2015 Polaris Ranger 570 Kicks Out of Gear

    Polaris Ranger 570
Yes, the free wheeling is normal in non EBS models. You can keep the clutch engaged by blipping the throttle as it it starts to kick out. You have to do this repeatedly on a longer hill. This is known as the Polaris two step, using your left foot on the brake and your right on the...
  19. Battery

    Polaris Ranger 570
You probably just need to take the battery to an auto parts store and have it load tested. Not knowing the size of the battery or the charge rate of the tender or the state of charge when you put the tender on makes it dfficult to know how long it would take for a full charge.
  20. 2014 ranger 400 crank no start

    General Discussion
Yes, I think that might be it.
