I have a 2015 ranger 570 efi. 570 hrs 3700 miles and I did the oil change today and saw some bigger metal bits on the oil drain plug. Still runs fine and haven’t had any issues with it so far. Sounds normal at idle and still has full power. So after I did the oil change I tried the old diesel truck blow by trick and it was blowing air out excessively. If it was a diesel truck I’d stay away. But no smoke and I’ve never had to add oil. Can anyone give insight on if this is normal? Obviously the metal bits aren’t but the blow by has be worried. Still runs no problem
If it were me, and the "metal bits" were enough to have me worried. I'd do a compression test, leak-down test, and check the valve clearances and go from there depending on what I found.
