2022 NS Ultimate windshield seal

My 2022 NS Ultimate windshield doesn't seal in the lower corners on both the passenger and drivers side. I asked the dealer about fixing it. He said they would probably end up adding some additional weather stripping to get it to seal. This seems like a band aid fix on a new $30,000 machine. Has any one else seen this problem? How do you correct it? The seal also doesn't touch on the roll cage for about the first 6 inches up from the corner. Then the seal starts to contact the roll cage.

My new 2021 NorthStar Ultimate does the same thing on the drivers side. When I open the windshield up I found that it was missing a seal on the drivers side. It has one on the passengers side, so I ordered a few. It’s item # 2 & 3. Hopefully that will get me fixed up!

Those aren't so much seals as they are pads to protect the glass from the frame in the corners. The seal itself runs around the perimeter of the glass.
My 22 Northstar Premium windshield leaks both sides and bottom. It is also a design change that tips out about 1 1/2” at the bottom. Not at all like the Ultimate. I believe the seals are fine but the windshield will not pull tight enough to them. I am also interested in what others learn as a fix.
I see these are older posts, I got my 22’ ultimate early January and had snow blow up the bottom corners of windshield. I bought 1/4” thick by 1” wide rubber foam seal and put along bottom and up the sides 6” or so and that helped a lot. It is not perfect but better. I had a 2019 gator 835R, and the glass was heavier and had a bigger compression style weather strip on the glass and the tip out handle actually pulled the glass tighter. To put it simple, the fit and finish of the Polaris cab is just not where it should be for a $30k now $36k machine. Mine as well buy a Ford bronco for the price

Polaris quality control is severely lacking, or it may be that they actually just don’t care about how their product leaves their facility. May be both!

Funny u say that, I pulled off one of the 400 stickers left on it the other day and had all the initials signed for quality checks lol....so I think they just don’t care!

I pulled a crapload of those things off ours too. If I could have found a CanAm Defender max with a/c I may have purchased it. None to be found here in Wyoming. Plus, I think they are butt ugly! I had two different CanAm Spyder when I lived in North Carolina. Had great luck with them. They were a blast to ride. Don’t think their open belt drive would do very well here in Wyoming on our dirt roads. And, I’ve-heard that changing oil on them is a real pain in the butt!

Hello, as discussed earlier my 2022 Premium windshield leaked at the bottom and partially up the sides. My dealer really went to bat for me. After months of going over people’s heads, at Polaris, they were finally issued a new Ultimate windshield kit. We thought the large overcenter latch handle would be capable of pulling the windshield tight. It does not.

I have 2 theories:
1, Either the curve of the windshield is incorrectly designed or manufactured.
2, Or the center of the firewall / dash is pushed out too far, towards the front of the machine, during assembly. Which causes the windshield to touch in the center and not in the lower corners or up the sides.

I am in a quandary because the new Ultimate windshield has a very noticeable poorer fit than the original Premium unit. Secondly I have a friend with an ultimate that seals perfectly with no modifications.

Either way there is nothing more for the dealer to do except adding foam. And continue making noise about the issue. That is where I am at. And of course not pleased with Polaris shrugging off the problem.

Just installed the factory windshield (7882191) $750 . Everything lined up with the holes through the cup holder but doesn’t seal on passenger side. Haven’t drove in the rain yet to see if the rest of it is sealed but don’t see daylight through it. I think your spot on with the front of the frame . We pushed in on the bottom center and it still wouldn’t seal as it’s as tight as it will go. In hind sight I’d researched and gotten a better fitting after market most likely cheaper.

I also think if they had put those latches like on the lock and ride just on the bottom corners it would have fixed the issue because you can push the corner in by hand real easy to a good seal. I may look to see if those locks are available separately that glue or epoxy on. Suck's to spend that money for second rate product and have to fix it yourself. Know what the dealer going to say that you installed it wrong.
I finally decided to repair this myself. Removed the windshield. I put self adhering 1/8“ thick x 1” wide foam all across the top and an 20” long piece centered with the latch at the bottom. I used 1/8” x 3/4” foam about 15” down, from the top, on each side (Edge). Then in the entire area between my 1/8” foam pieces, around the bottom corners, I filled in with a very flexible self adhering door seal foam. This stuff is about 1/2” wide and 3/8” tall hollow center. Mine is sealed up great now.
I believe someone else shared some similar pictures earlier but I could not find the post.
good luck!

My 2022 premium has the same issue on both lower corners. Seems to be a hit and miss on units. My buddies 2021 doesn't have a sealing issue, and another 2019 ultimate doesn't either. Closing the doors with the windows up, you can see the windshield bounce!

I agree with the hit or miss of their figment. But the foam i added as described above is still working well 6 mos. later. Good luck.

I just picked up my 23 NS Ultimate yesterday. They went to great detail to tell all the places the windshield would not seal well. I told them that is a hell of a thing to tell a customer about a 30K machine. I told them I didn’t see anything about that in all their advertising for the 23 Northstar Ultimates. We live in a desert so rain is only a problem during monsoon season.
Amen to your advertising statement. If it leaks save yourself the headache and begin to seal it yourself. It’s not right but you’ll have the satisfaction of correcting something they won’t and your blood pressure will be lower. Good luck.
Welcome to

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on you new ride. I’ve had 2 NorthStar’s so far. Both have leaked! Best thing to do is just fix it yourself if you dealership isn’t close or you don’t have the time for it to sit in their shop. Worst leak for us is where the roof overlaps. Would have been great if Polaris would have had the rear roof slide under the front so it would seal better, but some bright engineer had something else in mind. We’ve used Lexel on both to fix the leak. It works great. Hopefully when it starts warming up here in Wyoming I’ll be able to get our Thumper Fab aluminum roof installed. It’s been sitting in the barn since August.

Best bang for the bucks for me on both machines was the Gilomen tune and torque monster clutch kit. Besides that, turn signals and mirrors.

Get your wallet ready! Your more than likely going to be using it for some time.
I have a 2019 northstar and i took it to the body shop and they put sealant on mine. Does not leak anymore.
I have a tip out windshield. Don’t think I’ll ever drive down the road with it open, but who knows! Never really use it unless I’m working on the dash. That’s about the only thing it’s good for. If it wasn’t for that, I would seal it so it couldn’t leak!
