The bears around here are black bears and pretty much fearful of humans and machines. I see them all the time but it's usually the other end of them. ;D

They do love the garbage cans though and strike me as about as dumb as they come.

I finally found the pic's of one of our rides last fall these signs were posted every ten miles, I thing the authorities were nervous about you being somethings lunch..

Here is our regular, Brutus, right off our back deck.

You can't afford to feed these pigs but we had a friend from NYC visiting who had never seen a bear in real life so we got some corn and he arrived just at dusk.

Had to walk our friends to the car that evening with the shotgun because right behind him came three others and they wouldn't step foot out of the house until I made sure the coast was clear. :2funny:




Brutus met a hunter this past season and weighed in at over 600 pounds.

Here is another smaller one and that burn barrel is 42" high.
