Belt "dragging"/ difficulty shifting

I just replaced the belt on my 2006 Ranger 700 XP and now when I put it in gear (if I can get it in gear), the vehicle moves on its own. Because the belt is "dragging" it is very difficult to switch from low to high or from low to neutral / reverse to neutral. Any suggestions????
cm, it may "loosen up" after a couple weeks and things may go back to normal. You didn't mention if it was a Polaris belt as they are usually pretty good at fitting right outa the box. Dayco has a killer belt in the HPX but it always seems to run a bit small causing the shifting problem you have. In the meantime, I would turn the engine off and shift then restart so you don't kill the dogs in the transmission.......
