Im going to keep this short and sweet.
I hunt and work putting a few 100 hrs a year on my UTVs.
My last ranger was a 2010 I loved it but I kept burning up clutches. So I went to gators.
Had no problems with my gator until I bought a cab unit. It burnt to the ground. They replaced it.
The new one has been in the shop so much they bought it back Thursday.
So I’m looking at rangers. I do a lot of hauling feed, fertilizer, seed.
A lot of spraying a lot of mud
I want a North Star crew just for ac and stinking horse flys. They eat you alive all day on my place.
I keep reading about clutches going out. Is this a thing?

I understand any utv can have problems. But if I drop $26,000 I don’t have a extra grand to chip it or put a better clutch in etc.
so do I need to just look at normal rangers with hvac?

I’m also looking at Kubota.

Thank you for any and all advice and words of wisdom

If you’re working it a lot get the Kubota. Just know it’s not sporty at all.

I have a couple of friends with new NorthStars, one a three seat and one a crew and they haven't had any problems with either of them.
But there is a service advisory for units built BEFORE 4/10/19 if you do have a problem with the clutch. There are several parts that will be replaced.
Apparently units built after that date have already been updated.

More information here.
