I ordered a 22 Highlifter Crew on 8/17. Today, after waiting more than 3 months, the dealer tells me I have to pay the Polaris MSRP and freight increases, which raises the price about $2000!

I have price sheet where the salesman wrote the price and all the details of the sale when I put down $500 on 8/17. The salesman says the dealership can’t help the price change because they are at the mercy of Polaris.

Is this true? Does Polaris not honor the price of the machine when I ordered it, or is my dealer lying to make extra money off the sale?

I also have a price sheet from when I pre-ordered 8/12 - the same model you did. When Polaris announced new prices I was concerned so I shot my dealer a text.

Polaris owner connection is who you want to contact to confirm but, when I did they told me all orders placed after october 19th would pay the price increase. Call them to confirm and then relay that to your dealer. I'm not sure my dealership would like me to put their name out there for not making me pay the increase.

I think you need to call Polaris. Your dealer knows that unit will sell for more if you walk away.

I’ve been truck shopping lately. Some dealers are 10k over window. Some are still window.

Now, mine was a 21, but at one point when there was a rumor of it being changed to a 22, I questioned a potential price increase. I questioned the dealer, since I had already paid a $2000 "pre-order" deposit, my price was fixed, no changes, no way. That "pre-order" deposit was a contract to buy at the set price. (MSRP) I too would question the dealer statement and contact Polaris.
My only thought was that the dealer didn't quote you the correct price and wants to correct their mistake on your checkbook. Why did the dealer quote you a price lower than the MSRP?

A dealer absolutely doesn't "HAVE TO" make you pay MSRP either. That's total bullshit. I paid a grand under invoice for my '21 NS. BUT, corporate is limiting how many machines a dealer can order now, which DOES limit a dealer's earning potential. Can't sell a machine, if you can't get one. So, I can kind of understand a dealer doing what they have to in order to make a living, if Polaris is taking food out of their mouths. I guess I see both sides of the issue.

Thanks, guys. I will call Polaris on Monday. I’m going to try to resolve this the polite way with my dealer. They told me that Polaris is charging them more for the unit than when I ordered it. If Polaris tells me that isn’t true, then I will ask my dealer to honor the original price and I will excuse the “mistake.”

I have a customer service case number with Polaris. The lady on the phone took all my info and said a specialist would look into it and call me back. I told her the dealer said that it was Polaris’ fault they had to raise the price $2000 because they were being charged more for the vehicle even though I put money down and ordered August 17. She responded “REALLY…..” I hope Polaris gives my dealer a call to straighten this out.

Sounds to me like they're - as we used to say - trying to "put the shuck on you".
Good idea calling Polaris and opening a case. I think you will prevail.
Who is the dealer? (I wouldn't be surprised if it's the one right up the road from me. I'll spare you that story, since it's not really related.)
Regardless, I wish you success.

Sorry to hear you’re having to deal with this.
I ordered a ‘21 Ranger back in June. Polaris changed it to a ‘22 in August. When I picked it up in October I paid the ‘21 price that they originally quoted minus my $500 deposit. The dealer is I69 Motor Sports in Union City, TN.

That is total B.S. that the price went up on the pre-ordered SxS's.
They are trying to either get you to pay more or to back out and they sell it to someone else for more money.
Who is your dealer?

This is exactly what they’re doing.

Just bought a new truck. Dealers were anywhere from sticker to 10k over. One told me they didn’t have a choice because Ram was making them do it.

They know if you don’t pay the extra 2k, someone else will when it gets there.

I just got my highlifter in today. I ordered in May. They honored the price. Of you made a down payment, i would think you can hold them to it.

Is yours a 2022 Highlifter? I want to know if they are being delivered yet. I saw a picture of one delivered in another thread.

Guys, I am waiting on Polaris to try to straighten this out. I will give you guys all the details later. It’s a mess, but I want to give Polaris an opportunity to fix it before sharing. Hopefully we can make this right.
