Looking at a 21 model Ranger 1000 that has 488 miles and 67 hrs. It’s pretty clean . Problem is, they have neglected the first service. Surprisingly oil is somewhat clear, slightly brown but not bad. I cannot see the tranny or front diff oil until it’s drained of course. Air filter is good. Is this a deal breaker?

I have 2021 Polaris Ranger crew XP1000 Northstar premier...what I would do this time is have it serviced at Polaris Dealer and have them sign off in back of owners manual-in future most of warranty work you can do your self but make sure it is done on time. Then have Polaris dealership get something in writing that factory warranty was not voided. RM

I wouldn't worry about it. The lubricants used these days (I assume the factory uses their own full synthetic) are far superior to a few decades ago. The way Rangers are selling I'd jump on it. I waited 6 months for my 2022.

Be advised I also have 21 Polaris Ranger XP1000 crew Northstar Premier...since you missed the warranty manual book 1st service and object lesson is getting you back into warranty coverage terms ..(if you decide to buy).. I would ( for this time) take to nearest Polaris dealer have them change engine oil(factory brand which is synthetic ) and filter and have them sign off in the manual that you are in compliance ..and make sure in future you read through manual what it takes to stay in warranty compliance (which includes some work you can do yourself. Have Polaris mechanic ck diff oil and trans..
I would buy if deal is good and get 45- 60 day guarantee from seller

I wouldn’t be too worried about it.

the diffs and what not aren’t due until a year or 1k miles I think.

Doing the math those have been gentle miles. Dividing the hours by miles says their average speed was 7.2 mph.

I'm glad that works for you. :)
Ever heard of oil analysis? It proves these extremely early oil changes are pointless. But you believe everything the manufacture tells you as they continue to sell you more.

honestly if you think any damage would be done by a mildly late oil change your are dilutional and have no idea of the inner workings of the engines.

Maybe you should contact Polaris, visit with their engineers and let them know how much you know and give them advice. I am sure they will greatly appreciate your knowledge and input.
If you really think any of that stuff in the manual is put in my engineers you are wrong the legal team has more input than “engineers” other than the frame and ROPs there is nothing engineer stamped on these And believing the company that is selling you the product blindly like you do is hilarious. But you do you 😂
