So has anyone bought this Fuel Saver Clutch Kit from Gilomen and do you really get a 40% increase in your fuel mileage and does it really cut down on the droning noise in your Ranger. I have a 2019 Northstar and i really tried to reduese the noise in it which is better then when i got it but if i am going to shell out $200.00 for this i just want to know if anbody is running this.

Yes I have installed what Gilomen calls the "Fuel Saver" Clutch kit. on my 2022 Premium Crew 1000. I prefer to call it the "Low RPM" clutch kit. Yes it really is a noticeable reduction in RPM's and cabin engine noise. As far as fuel savings goes, it really depends on your open road cruising speed. If you constantly go 30+ MPH yes GPM will improve. If you trail ride in the 5 to 15 MPH like me, then no fuel savings at all, I got ~ 9.5 GPM before and after only because I only use it for low speed utility work and leisure trail riding.

With all that said bottom line it really reduces engine RPM, hence cabin noise. Long term engine life should be greatly increased. I also purchased the Performance tune to lower radiator cooling fan cut in from 205 down to 190. Another feature to prolong engine life.

Another thought ....

Got a head liner? or stick on acoustic foam panels? I also recommend Grizzztech mud guards to block the mud and help reduce noise coming in the rear under seat battery and fuel tank compartments. Might even be worth lining those with some sound deadening material too.

I basically use mine to go to work and run around town with it. I have done alot of sound proofing to it like pulling the dash apart and putting in insulation in it and putting sound deadoner inside the cabin and inside of the battery box and the stow bin under the drivers seat. I usually get around 20 mpg with it which is really good and i do have a Gilomen tune and clutch in it. I bought this brand new and it just turned 7000 miles and really never had any problems with it. I am thinking down the road about buying one of the new Kinectic electric rangers but i will see how the first model years go and see how many problems they have with them.
