Just swapped a replacement Kohler motor into my Ranger. I have the throttle screw backed out all the way....and the throttle cable is not holding it.....the throttle level is resting on the stop.....but the dash says 1700 RPM's at idle. Not sure how to adjust it any lower.

Not at all yet. I called Kohler and they said they would talk with some of their techs and call me back. Really has me stumped. I will let you know as soon as I find out.
I found the issue....I had to replace the spring on the governor with the one from the original motor. That brought the idle rpm's down to 1100.
