2021 Ranger Full Size 570
The exhaust on my 570 full size is considerably louder than what I like, and a search of the internet shows I'm not the only one that feels this way. One very simple hack that a guy did, was to remove the spark arrestor in the tail pipe, and cram a stainless scouring pad into the pipe up to the muffler, and reinstalled the spark arrestor. I had a scouring pad on hand and tried it, it was noticeably helpful. I ran it for a few miles, and it seemed to run and start ok, no over heating. I'm not sure how it's affecting the machine, so I took it out, and thought I'd check with the forum to see what opinions on this are. Is this ok to do, or am I causing damage?
