I saw a post where the RZR owner modified his muffler to be simular to the Ranger muffler to make it quieter:

and I saw a post where a Ranger owner modified his muffler to be simular to the RZR to make it flow better: http://www.prcforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=13923&highlight=muffler

And I was wondering is the muffler on a 700 XP any different than the muffler on a 500 4x4 ?
(every aftermarket muffler I see always says "for XP" )

Would it be possible to put a RZR muffler onto the Ranger and visa versa ?
I am guessing the RZR muffler probably flows better.
and am guessing the Ranger Muffler is quieter.

The ranger 500 and 700 stock mufflers are the same. The rzr is a totally different muffler. You could put a 700 muffler on the 500 but you would want a smaller outlet to get the proper performance.
