Got a 2019 Polaris Ranger 1000XP and trying to get it running agin if able. It was in a flood on the coast and from my knowledge was just about completely under water. Been piddling around with it for a day and the instrument panel lights up and works power steering works and all fuses and relays are getting power but there is no power getting to the lights, ECU, fuel pump, or any sensors on the motor. Checked the wiring harness and connections and all seem fine going to dig deeper into later just trying to get some ideas on things to check or if it is truly a lost cause.

Might check for fraying where the harness comes out of the center tube structure. I had some shorting/corrosion issue affecting those sensors and ecu and we found the harness was worn through and corroded in that area.

The fricking wiring diagram is on one 8 1/2 x 11 sheet in the service manual. You might want to buy a big magnifying glass or overhead projector to be able to see it.

Change all the oils, all of them. Take all the electrical connections apart you can find, carefully take them apart so as to be able to put them back together properly. Clean the crap out of them, wipe the contamination out, and put back together with a dab, just a dab, of die electric grease, all the connections you can find. This will take hours and hours, but the water is in the if it was underwater for any amount of time. Take the spark plugs out, squirt a touch of motor oil into the cylinders, keep the plugs out, and try to crank the engine over….. if it doesn’t turn over, just clicks, two things could be going on. Stater might be no good, engine could be locked up, test starter for its condition, I think spinning over the engine by hand is much more involved.

If you can turn it by hand, then get the Marvel Mystery oil out of the engine, and put in motor oil, change the transmission oil, both diff’s oils. Buy a new starter, or rebuild this one. Clean up the spark plugs, it’s time to see if it gets spark. Add fresh fuel to the drained and cleaned fuel tank, new air cleaner, and try to start it…….
That’s still a lot of stuff, take your time, try to have fun, we’ll get this thing running and you’ll be ahead in the trade, ……. hopefully.

appreciate it. I got it from a guy in south Louisiana so it was salt water gonna drain everything and put fresh oil in it this week and try it will let yall know how it goes.

Rinse rinse rinse the entire machine, salt water will corrode almost anything. Get fresh water everywhere the salt water was. Wash it with soap and water, and rinse the heck out of it.
