So I'm in with my first purchase of a UTV and picked up a Ranger XP 1000 3 seat. I love everything about it, it's a hunting rig for me. I went with a full, fixed front windshield and in about 5 minutes realized the mistake. We're in a dusty, really dusty Texas panhandle environment. So, added the rear panel, and still have a problem. Not as bad, but still making me contemplate goggles and dust mask. The entire cab interior gets a solid coating. No way I could have an uncased rifle in the cab with this amount of dust.
So, I'm hearing that a half windshield will solve the dust issue. The direct air flow into the cab will blow the dust right out the sides when the air hits the rear panel. 7-8 months out of the year, I'll roll with no windshield at all. But in the cold months, I need something. Anyone roll with a 1/2 front, full rear panel and no doors? I'd like to know how the dust was with this set up, and if it does a decent job of keeping most of the cold air off the driver.
