Putting in a seat heater kit. There is a flimsy plastic liner/film over the foam seat cushion. Its the flimsy plastic like a drycleaning bag. It does not completely cover the cushion. As a result the foam cushion has gotten wet. Am drying things out before reinstall.

Question: Does the cushion need to be completely covered with this film to keep it dry or keep it water proof?
Thank you very much.

The plastic over the cushion could be just a liner the foam maker left on it. Maybe it should have been removed. The heater does get hot. As for the heater installation, I am assuming that it is a black sticky back film. I would make sure it is stuck to the foam itself. If all the connections are coated with dielectric grease you should be good. I use spray kind mostly.
