For me, Today 3/15/2023 is time to start wood cutting to prep for winter again. I try to keep about a 3 years supply in reserve. I cut every spring and sometimes in the fall to keep at least enough cut and stacked that's seasoned 2-3 years.

So took the Ranger out today pulling my home made wood hauler trailer to my wood cutting area to find trees dead from bark beetle, drought, blown over, or dead and down for who knows how long. In the background there is a stand of four dead trees that fell victim to bark beetle. EZ Pickens.

I was trying to overachieve and wanted to stack the cargo box all the way to the top of the cage. I Decided to check my shocks first, I have about 2" of travel left and about 4 miles back home so I called it good enough.

I installed a backup camera a while back and wired it to be on all the time while key is on. I can keep and eye on my logs just in case one falls off.

Made it home. Where the Mrs. stacked while I split on our home made log splitter tied into the dozer hydraulics.

So then, no one has done anything with their Polaris lately? Shame Shame.

This is what I did March 19, 2023 one day after light snowfall. Noting exciting, Just taking a few of my dogs trail riding on 275 acres of my central New Mexico high mountain desert land around 7000 feet elevation. Over the years I made about 5 miles of trails winding through the woods and meadows. What you see in the video is a portion of the trails. Next video, I'll take you where two wild Mustang Mares are roaming around, maybe catch a glimpse of some deer too.

Nothing glamorous, but drug the 6 acre pasture to break up manure and then used pull behind boom sprayer to spread weed killer. Next job is to wand spray the fence and touch the stubborn sedge weed.

I did complete the service and swapped all filters and replaced rear speaker pods. Original speaker pods cracked around the bolts, so wound up using rivets with washers. This winter I also swapped out front springs with oem and stopped the bottoming out issue…..mine is a Bobcat diesel with heavy bull bumper with winch so can’t complain about need for spring replacement. FYI- don’t bother with cheaper so called HD springs as they’re HD in name only.

Thanks for sharing what you use your machine for, sounds like you put it to good use. I'm interested in what you use to drag your pasture with. Some pictures would be cool. Is it a 3400? how many hours?

I used to have a 2012 3400XL Bobcat diesel, what a work horse it was, I really miss the fuel mileage it used to get. It was a former rental unit probably totally abused. It blew a head gasket at 2000 hours due to the fan relay not working. It over heated so many times and I did not know it until the head finally blew. I wound up finding a new Yanmar engine on eBay. Swapped it out with my grandson. Quite a project.

Nice properties you guys have, my single acre property and the dog. I trail ride and use it as a wheelbarrow. Here in central Florida, that crazy white ground covering doesn’t happen , but overheating is a thing down here.

But you have white sand. I love Florida, especially from Dec through March. In 1977 I camped out four months in an orange grove near Dunedin, best homeless choice I ever made :) Probably gone by now.

Nice unit and your Shepard must love that wonderful green grass in your immaculate yard.. Thanks for posting

Did anyone happen to notice this little monster in the front seat? The Black and White unit blends in quite well. I suppose you've all heard of the mythical creature called a Chupacabra? Will I submit to you they are not mythical! She is Chupacabra, we call her Chupa for short LOL.

Haven’t really used mine for much around the house much recently. More of a commuter at this point of the year. Lol

below was the last trip down to the property though so there’s that.

Yes, mine is the 3400XL with the yanmar diesel….loader than the new Kohler diesels but much preferred from what I’ve seen and read. I have just over 400 hours on it.
Very nice unit in excellent condition. Looks like it has a beefy frame for the window. I noticed your Kubota tractor in there too.

A bit morbid but got what I asked for. Must be too many of them and a danger to something. I've seen them leap over a 5' fence like a deer. I have 7 dogs and a good fence to keep the dogs in. But now that I've seen with my own eyes how high they can jump makes me consider doing the same thing. Have you tanned any pelts? Might make a nice jacket, blanket, or better yet seat covers for your ride!

Here is an accelerated video of a "short" trail ride going to visit a pair of wild Mustang Mares. They have been roaming my land the last 4 years. They are not fenced in with no reason to leave, plenty of grazing area. They get water and sweet feed, plus they raid the corn in the deer feeders  They eat out of our hand now, on my bucket list is to train at least one (the docile one) yea right ;)

So what have you done with your Polaris lately ?
30+ feet of snow in our high country. All backroads seriously blocked.

Have taken the dog out and drove around the neighborhood on a couple sunny days.
