Thats pretty low engagement. It should have reduced the clank noise from the driveline slack by reducing the engagement rpm. Is that the only problem ?You should be getting more RPM / performance then the stock set up

Do you know what the spring rate is for the black and orange spring they sent you? Here is a list of the spring rates they sell from their website

Spring Rate:
29-260
58-105
59-140
45-180
55-225
75-260
60-280
105-260
I can see if it’s written somewhere. Yea as far as I can tell it just cruises a little more rpm’s and the engine revs up quicker it seems. In the paperwork it says that the stock belt runs higher RPMs and that weight may need to be added in the end hole. i don’t really want to start messing with the weights because I don’t know how to tell if I’m hurting the engine or anything.

Ended up giving it another try. This time with the belt cover back on, still clunks. But not as bad. Can hit gas a LITTLE harder without as nasty as a clunk. But if you hit it hard after EBS has engaged it still clunks. So I guess why it doesn’t do it sometime? It depends on the position of the rollers in the helix?

Correct. The clutch kit isn't a CURE. It just allows you to ease into the throttle a little more to AVOID the noise. If you jam on it from a dead stop....it's going to clunk no mater what. But is that how you intend to drive your ranger?
If I’m running from something yes…lol. No not really. Its our neighborhood cart. the clutch kit seems to let the ranger rev up a little faster it feels which makes acceleration smooth and consistent. I may still order the G boost belt and keep the factory as a spare.

Spaz, did you see the video I made of the clunk

I did. It was almost like you were trying to make it clunk. When you took off normal and didnt Stab the throttle, it sounded fine. If the clutch kit improved since the video, it should be much more enjoyable to drive.

Nothing personal here...doyou happen to be in the engineering field?
Engineer!?!? Lol where in the H did you hear that!?!? No I’m just an operator at a refinery.

The thing is though, sometimes when I take off “normally” it still clunks. But hey I’ll drive it till it blows up.

Quick question.... I am setting the magnets now . its at 4 4 2 like you suggested . What do you think about adding the small tip weight ...IE 4 , 4, 2 + 1 tip wt ?? ...for a little more belt grip on top ?

It was definitely slipping on the primary and engagement was up to 2300 . I have never seen marks on the primary before ...secondary looked good though ...no grooving or damage on the primary

De glazing the sheaves now while I await your reply ;)

Thanks

I’m sorry, are you asking me?
