Your RANGER XP Kinetic is almost here. Get ready.

This is the title of an email I got this morning. Polaris is such a tease. I ordered on Dec 1, a few minutes after you could order one. And still didn't get an ultimate. Just a measly premium ;)
My account on polaris.com still shows the very first step:

Order Confirmed
Your order has been received.

But hey, maybe I will get it before my last will and testament is read.

More shifty comms from Polaris.

It is generally considered that Spring starts March 20th and ends June 21st. Not sure I'd call that "early" as the 3rd week of June is pretty much halfway through the year. But I doubt many believed them anyways.
January has come and gone....crickets. Anyone get an update on this shit show??

According to my letter, they are shipping early 2023. I suppose early could mean sometime in the first half of the year??

To my knowledge, I have not heard anything from Polaris in January. Or so far, 2/3 the way through February. My dealer told me "Q2". Which means April, May, June.

It's OK though. I pre-ordered a Cybertruck on Apr 15, 2020. Approaching 3 years for that. And probably won't get it this year.
Just got this email

Dear stupid sucker that's been waiting 1 year, 4 months, and 1 day for your now outdated Ranger,

Thank you again for being one of the first to order the new RANGER XP Kinetic. We know that you are excited to receive your vehicle, and we are working diligently to get you riding as soon as possible.

In December, we communicated shipments were expected to start in spring 2023. As a follow‑up, we are reaching out to let you know we are still tracking to that schedule with shipments expected to start in April. Please know we anticipate initial shipments may continue into early summer.

We will continue to keep you updated as your vehicle gets closer to shipment. You can also find the latest status updates for your order on the Polaris order tracking portal. When your vehicle is ready for pickup, your selling dealer will contact you directly.

We appreciate your continued patience and commitment to Polaris. Thank you for being a valued customer and choosing to be a part of the Polaris family.

Dear stupid sucker that's been waiting 1 year, 4 months, and 1 day for your now outdated Ranger,
This is just part of the electrical vehicle experience. I waited almost as long for my F150 Lightning and will be waiting longer for my Rivian.
Heh, been waiting 2 years, 10 months, 16 days for my Cybertruck
But I got my Model 3 Performance in 15 days and my Model Y in 11 days.

But this is different. There were delivery expectations. That are now 10 months past due. And 6 months past due. And 3 months past due. All depending on which email you believed.

I ordered it in dec 2021 like many here, is it just me or didn't it come with a winch and a roof initially, and now I seems like it is going to come completely naked.. with a much more expensive price tag then initially on their website when I ordered it and gave my 500$... Anyone have info one this?

The machine has always been naked. No winch, or cab accessories. I know this because I still have the list of stuff I ordered with it. A few months back I went to look at my pile of dusty stuff taking up space in their warehouse. Including some sweet wheels and tires ;)
I had to put $1k down. But the dealer is the one getting the shaft here. They have all this inventory on their books. Polaris really screwed the pooch on this one.

I remember watching the sneak peek videos on their website in early 2021. From initial announcement until June, when they expect to deliver the last pre-orders, is 2 years and 4 months. That is just... comical. Total fail.

But hey, we got a cheesy framed diagram for $1000

My dealer is adding $3K to the MSRP, even after waiting for 22 months. I am really losing my patience...
Polaris facilitated first drives for journalists almost 6 months ago. I'm starting to think that there is some sort of quality control issue with the drivetrain. If it was primarily a supply chain issue, they would have gotten a few out to customers by now.

how is that fair? it's a bit over 4k from when I gave my 500$ deposit in dec 2021... to now... what a joke

Not really but since they committed to April in writing a little over a month ago, they have to be close.

I would also assume anyone who has access to their order through the Vehicle Tracking Portal may see a status of Scheduled, Built or In Transit by now...

just checked... its still just "ordered" not scheduled not built not in in transit... so frustrating! it is my first Polaris experience, I am more into Honda's or Brp for snowmobiles, I have to say the lies are starting to be really annoying.
Big fat nothing. Has looked like this for... 502 days

Polaris has posted the parts catalog and diagrams. Just spent a few minutes browsing around. A few interesting tidbits
1) Still has a lead acid low voltage battery. The same SKU that is used in almost every other Polaris off road product for '23 (and even lists '24). And a 450w DC to DC converter so the HV battery can charge the LV battery. 450w is a bit weak IMO. That's less than the stator on most new gas machines.
2) The motor connects to the rear gearcase with a belt. Not CVT ;) And is in a similar arrangement as the gas rigs. Only instead of a secondary clutch, it's just the driven pully.
3) As expected, the Ultimate and the Premium share the same battery packs. Only the Premium has 1x and the Ultimate 2x
4) Rear diff has the automotive style setup (and not the older sun/planet gears). Good lord YES.
5) Switches are: 1) Rear 12v aux plug (in the bed) 2) Drive mode (assume the sport, work, whatever modes) 3) 1wd, 2wd, 4wd 4) headlights 5) Accent lights (must be the front grill thing?). That only leaves you with only 4 switch holes. Yikes!
6) The forward reverse switch is on the top of the shifter handle in the early videos. It looks to still be there. Making the purpose of the shifter handle kinda weird. Must be low/high/park? But then there is a part "3235224 SHAFT, REVERS,E 29T" in the tranny. I'd expect the motor to just spin backwards for reverse, which is supported by the electrical F/R switch. And the above shaft is used in a ton of machines. Might be used for reverse in them, but for something else here.

 Polaris is a bunch of assclowns.

It's hard to imagine the level of incompetence this program has been run with.
Granting the accuracy of the dates, a stretch for sure, 8/28/2023 would represent a wait of 635 days from the day I ordered it.
As well, the 2024 models will be out by then. For a 2023 model year machine.
