Was driving down a trail, and it just died, just lost power and coasted to a stop. So I tried to start it and nothing, besides cranking and cranking. I did notice that every time I turned the key I could not hear the fuel pump kick in. Checked for spark, Checked and swapped all the fuses. poured some fuel into cylinder, cranked and it fired. Actually pulled the pump on the trail and tapped it a few times to see if it would free up. (old school pump thought) I am now assuming it is the fuel pump or leads to pump. Does anyone know how to tell if the leads to the pump are sending current to the pump. How do you test this? Or is it most likely the pump. Secondly is it fine if I purchase an off brand as long as it is OEM?
