Thought I would show everyone what we ended up doing. Of course, after many hours and finding out that the new 22 N. stars will have new comfort bolstered seats, to say I’m pissed is an understatement. Polaris should come out with a deal for us to get those seats At a discount.

After looking at all the options we went ahead and ordered some very nice sheepskin pads and put them on the seats. To provide a little additional lumbar support I took two short pieces of foam 1/2” copper pipe insulation and placed them under the pads in the lumbar area. This has significantly improved the comfort. I have attached a picture so you can see our solution.

How about just ordering a couple of the 2022 Ultimate seats? I havent seen them or sat in them and dont know if they would be a direct replacement but worth a shot

This endeavor started over two months ago and the 2022 improved seats were announced last week. I was just trying to show anyone using this forum what we ended up doing as an interim solution to foster ideas. I agree with you and I’m hoping that we can get a good price on the 2022 seats if they’re as comfortable as we hope.

Wanted to provide an update and also probably put an end to this forum listing. Just got a look at the 2022 Northstar ultimate seats. They are absolutely fantastic and a marked improvement over the previous seats. So much so we have ordered a set for our 21 Northstar. The cost was $1500. Dealer check and they have not changed the seat mounts so these should be a direct replacement for the current seats in our 21.

I really like the side bolsters on those. How do they sit? Do they have any more recline to them?
That's the most uncomfortable part for me, sitting straight up.

The still sit straight as they use the same seat frames. However, they sit much more comfortable with the bolsters and softer foam. Very similar to the Defender Limited seats.

I had the chance to sit in a 2022 Polaris Ranger this morning. The difference in the seat is amazing, I walked right back in to the parts counter and ordered new seats for my 2021. Looks like they might arrive in April 2022.

Did you get your new seats? If so, how long did it take for them to arrive?

It took about a month for 3 of the 4 seats to arrive. Still waiting for the passenger bottom seat to arrive. We LOVE the ones we have. The passenger back is a pain to put in but it is doable. Took me a couple hours but I am a little slow and I was trying to line up the Polaris holes with the screws that hold it. Got 3 of 4 to line up. Ended up drilling a hole for the fourth one after about 20 minutes of frustration.

Thanks for the info.
I assume they are "supposed" to be a direct replacement part? I was going to order the backrest only, but then noticed that the seat cushion was a bit different too.

They are a direct replacement. They attach exactly like the other seats only with additional cushioning and bolsters. The pain to put the passenger back in comes in that you have to remove three panels to get at the screws and then you still have to have a double jointed wrist and a flexible screwdriver to get them in. All that said said my wife and I both agree it was a good purchase ($1500) as our backs like the additional lumbar support.

See the previous post from today. Up just a little bit. If you still have questions send me another note.

GarySGU, where did you purchase the sheepskin covers from? Thanks
I believe they were the Covercraft seat pads and we still like them very much. They definitely add comfort and provide shielding from the heat as well as a warmer surface when it is colder out. Durability is fantastic.

by the way, the 2022 seats that we ordered last November we are still waiting on the passenger lower seat. Had three of four for about six months.

@GarySGU bummer that the seat bottom is still backordered. 7-8 months now... disappointing. I'll wait it out and if the supply train ever gets better I will order a set
